The Forest Program encompasses wide range of forest conservation problems. Among its key lines are:

• identifying intact forest landscapes and other high conservation value forests (HCVF) of Russia and other countries;
• promoting responsible forestry and voluntary certification according to the FSC guidelines among large timber industries operating in Russia;
• establishing protected nature areas;
• supporting web-site Forest.ru that provides detailed information on Russian forests, problems they face and forest legislation

  Tasks to be fulfilled in the nearest future:
  

• preparing maps and GIS databases on HCVF for individual regions;
• preparing maps on HCVF of the whole Russian Far East;
• ensuring large timber industries to perform voluntary forest certification process in Russia;
• developing environmentally friendly forest legislation in Russia;
• developing FSC certification in Russia;

• analysing state of Russia's forests
