Nature and reserve foundation of the Ryazan oblast / Compilers M. V. Kazakova, N. A. Sobolev. Ryazan. Russkoye slovo, 2004. 419 pages.

This book is the third, final volume of the Ryazan oblast Red data book. The publication summarizes information on all specially protected natural areas in the region and on the Ramsar sites, water protection zones of rivers and other water basins as well as some other zones in the form of detailed studies. The studies content generally complies with the "Standard form for statistical documentation on protected areas". Each study is furnished with a road map, there are also rode maps which show the location of the protected nature areas in separate administrative regions in the Oblast. There are numerous photographs on colored insets.

The book is designed for experts in nature protection, farm, forest and hunting industry workers, biologists, geographers, teachers, students and experts of local lore.

This publication contains summaries on the species of plants and animals present in the territories of the most of Russian reserves (for vascular plants - in the territories of 88 of them). The materials are presented in the form of tables preceded by brief analytical articles.

This book is designed for officials and experts in biological diversity studies and protection and conservation activities.

Reserves, national parks and natural parks' officials can apply by proxy to the IUCN Office in Moscow for a free copy of this edition.
