The work of this division pursues the Center’s major goal — to gather information on nature protection and make it available to the members of the country’s conservation community as well as other interested parties. BCC Press is a registered publisher of the Russian Federation.
The main publication projects include:
Wildlife Conservation, a quarterly Russian-language journal presenting scientific and practical issues of conservation in a style comprehensible to the lay reader;
Nature Reserves and National Parks, a quarterly Russian-language information bulletin for the professional audience;
books and brochures on wildlife protection.
The circulation of each periodical exceeds 1000 copies, which are sent free of charge to nature reserves and national parks, state and public conservation agencies, educational and research institutions, as well as a number of individual conservationists in Russia and the countries of the former Soviet Union.
Over its history, the Center's publishing program was engaged in:
establishing and supporting a number of periodicals, eventually to be run by other agencies (such as the Russian-language Forest Bulletin, Living Arctic, Protection of Living Nature, Steppe Bulletin, and Nature Reserves Herald; and the English-language Russian Conservation News), with most of these still maintaining cooperative ties with the Center;
printing and distributing various materials on environmental education;
assisting publications featuring innovative practices (both domestic and foreign) in nature protection, achievements in conservation science, and news in the field of environmental legislation.
